Postural issues
An unbalanced posture — one shoulder higher, a slightly shifted pelvis, a rounded back — often settles in gradually, unnoticed, until it becomes a source of lasting discomfort.
What is a postural imbalance?
The body constantly seeks balance between its various muscular chains. A repetitive activity, an old injury, a poor positional habit (sitting, standing, at work) or a lack of mobility can gradually shift this centre of balance. The body then compensates with other muscle groups, which sustains and amplifies the initial imbalance over time.
Commonly associated symptoms
- Visible asymmetry of the shoulders, pelvis or gait
- A constant sense of needing to "straighten up"
- Tension that moves from one area of the body to another
- Postural fatigue by the end of the day
- Discomfort or stiffness when holding a position
How Seitai Hodoki can support postural issues
Seitai Hodoki is concerned with the balance of the body as a whole rather than a single painful point. Joint adjustment and Ki diffusion aim to restore a better distribution of tension between the various muscular chains, for a more natural posture that costs less energy day to day.
How a session unfolds
Sessions are given fully clothed, in comfortable clothing made of natural fabric. Please also bring a towel or body linen. An initial intake assessment helps identify the origin of the tension before shaping the session.
Seitai Hodoki is a complementary approach — it does not replace medical care.
