Osteoarthritis
Cervical or lumbar osteoarthritis is a progressive wearing of the joints, frequently accompanied by stiffness and compensatory muscular tension.
What is cervical or lumbar osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is a wearing of the joint cartilage that frequently affects the cervical or lumbar vertebrae with age or following repeated strain. The surrounding muscles often contract in response to protect the weakened joint, which in turn sustains stiffness and pain.
Commonly associated symptoms
- Joint stiffness, especially in the morning
- Pain that increases with certain movements
- A cracking or grinding sensation
- Protective muscular tension around the affected area
- Reduced range of movement
How Seitai Hodoki can support osteoarthritis
Seitai Hodoki works gently on the muscular tension that forms around osteoarthritic joints, without forcing the structure. The undulations of Yurigake and Ki diffusion aim to ease these protective contractions and support better overall mobility, alongside medical care where necessary.
How a session unfolds
Sessions are given fully clothed, in comfortable clothing made of natural fabric. Please also bring a towel or body linen. An initial intake assessment helps identify the origin of the tension before shaping the session.
Seitai Hodoki is a complementary approach — it does not replace medical care.
